HIDDEN PLANS
I smiled,
I laughed—
With you,
While inside, the storm was screaming.
Each breath I took beside you
Felt like the last before the end.
I knew this day was written,
Somewhere far beyond my reach,
Etched by hands I could not fight,
A fate I could not teach.
The seconds whispered in my ears,
Soft daggers falling one by one,
Counting down the love I gave,
Till silence told me we were done.
I loved you more than words allow,
In ways that even time can't show.
No one—no soul—will ever love
The way I loved you, this I know.
And still, I let you walk away,
Though it split me from my skin.
My heart now beats in bleeding tones,
For the war I lost within.
Each day before this hollow date,
I died in pieces, quietly,
A funeral in slow motion—
Grief disguised as loyalty.
From far away, I’ll love you still,
In secret, where the echoes roam.
You’ll live in every breath I take,
Though I must walk this world alone.
