Let them be. Let them go.
Life has been cruel in quiet ways,
Dangling dreams just out of reach—
Fields of green that turn to dust
The moment I dare step forward.
I never asked for much,
Just a little warmth, a little peace.
But even love comes wearing masks,
And when I give my all,
It’s still not enough.
They want more—
More patience, more silence,
More of me,
Even when I have nothing left to give.
I love with everything,
Even the broken parts.
I bend, I bleed, I sacrifice,
But they still walk away,
Or stand too far to see me clearly.
So now, I pull back.
Let them be. Let them go.
But this distance I create
Is turning me to stone.
Each day begins in tears,
Each night ends in them too.
And in between,
I carry a quiet war inside—
Between who I am,
And who I’m told I should be.
Lately, I look in the mirror
And struggle to see someone lovable.
Just shadows,
Just silence,
Just someone tired of never being enough.
